A greyhound in flight is an amazing thing to watch.

Everything important I have learned in life, I learned from my Greyhound. No seriously. These dogs, which are more like 65-pound house cats, sleep all day long. But when they want to run, boy-howdy do they go! Greyhounds, particularly racing greyhounds, have a hard life early on. But if they are fortunate enough to be adopted later, they live the life of Riley, if they pick the right humans to live with.
Living with a Greyhound has been instructive. And Ginger has taught me a number of valuable lessons:
- Never pass up a good opportunity to have a nap.
- When you first enter a room, find the most comfortable couch, and claim it as your own.
- Humans are OK, particularly if they like dogs.
- You really need only one or two good friends in life.
- Take pride in your work - and find the joy in it as well.
- Stay warm - wear a sweater.
- If you are born to be thin, you will be thin. If you were born to be muscular, you will be muscular. If you were born to be fat, you will be fat. Try to stay in shape as best you can, but accept your body for what it is.
- It's OK to sing at the top of your lungs, on occasion.
- Just because you never catch that rabbit or squirrel, doesn't mean you should stop trying.
Sofa - So good!
